Strictly Come Dancing fans have praised Nikita Kuzmin after he urged people to "be kind", with the message coming after celebrity partner Amber Davies faced criticism over her participation in the series .

The pair, the highest-scoring couple in the season, made it through to the semi-final of the competition last week after prevailing in the dreaded dance-off over Lewis Cope and Katya Jones, who were the second highest-scoring duo.

Amber, like Lewis , has had previous dance training - albeit unrelated to the Ballroom and Latin styles present on Strictly - prior to her participation in the series, with several viewers claiming that it was unfair for the competition.
