Everton manager David Moyes has admitted he could be forced to dip into the transfer market in January.
The window is set to reopen for a month and the timing might well be perfect for the Toffees.
A good run of form had seen Moyes' men creep up the Premier League table.
Wins over Fulham , Manchester United , Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest had boosted the confidence of the Toffees after a mixed start to the campaign.
However, despite a sprightly display, they lost 2-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
And while the performance has given them heart, losing star man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to what looked like a hamstring issue in the first half may cause them issues in the coming weeks.
