ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – An officer stopped a car for speeding at 8 p.m. on Nov. 16 on Lake Road and soon suspected the driver had been drinking.

The car was traveling at 52 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to a police department statement.

As the officer spoke with the driver, he noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the man. The driver, a 40-year-old Bay Village resident, told the officer he was coming from the Browns game, where he had about two drinks.

The officer administered field sobriety tests to the driver and then arrested the driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

While being booked into the Rocky River jail, the driver gave a breath sample that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.137, according to the police statement.
