1PISCATAWAY, N.J. – A German shepherd named Bishop is back home safe after being found wandering near West 7th Street and Harvard Street earlier Saturday, according to the Piscataway Township Police Department.

Police said Bishop was located and cared for while officers worked to identify his owner.

By late afternoon, the department confirmed through social media that Bishop had been reunited with his family.

Authorities first issued a “Found Dog Alert” on Facebook, asking residents to help identify Bishop and contact police with any information. Within hours, the department announced an update: “Bishop is home safely!! Thank you!”
