LOS ANGELES -- The Detroit Lions made a handful of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
They officially placed safety Brian Branch on injured reserve. Branch underwent surgery for his Achilles injury earlier this week and faces a lengthy timeline back to action. He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter in the win over the Dallas Cowboys last week.
They also activated tight end Shane Zylstra from injured reserve. Zylstra has been back at practice for two weeks, and his return comes at just the right time. Top tight ends Sam LaPorta (back) and Brock Wright (neck) are on injured reserve. LaPorta is expected to miss the rest of the season, while Wright is first eligible to return for the season finale.
