SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A death investigation is underway Saturday, after troopers in Lycoming County shot and killed a man.
State police say 49-year-old Michael Hughes threatened to shoot someone at a home along the 700 block of Fairmount Avenue in South Williamsport.
When troopers entered the home, Hughes allegedly brandished a weapon at them.
Hughes was shot and killed.
A release from state police says troopers involved were placed on leave pending an investigation, which is normal following an officer-involved shooting.
No one else was hurt.
