Donald Trump has warned of "very serious retaliation" after two US soldiers and a civilian interpreter were killed in an attack in Syria .

US Central Command said three Americans were killed and three other service members were injured in what it described as an "ambush by a lone ISIS gunman", who was "engaged and killed".
