PROVIDENCE, R.I. —

Authorities announced Sunday morning that a person of interest was in custody in connection with the deadly shooting inside a Brown University building on Saturday.

Police released a video of the person wanted in the shooting late Saturday, describing the person as a "male dressed in black."

The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. inside the Barus & Holley engineering building, where exams were scheduled. O'Hara said the suspect is believed to have exited the building through the Hope Street exit.

"Preliminarily, all we have is a suspect that was a male, dressed in black. It is unknown how he entered the building," O'Hara said.
