SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Project Warm-Up is celebrating 20 years this season of making and distributing fleece blankets to those in need.

Project Warm-Up’s first event back in 2006 was hosted by 20 Lincoln High School students. Since then, more than 43 thousand blankets have been made and given away.

The blankets have reached every Sioux Falls School District school, and many other organizations like Habitat for Humanity, St. Francis House, and many more.

“It is such an exciting day. The weather didn’t want to cooperate, but it hasn’t slowed down the volunteers from showing up. It’s just so hard to believe that this community just keeps rallying together year after year. 20 years of coming together, donating their time, fleece, and funds.
