TEXARKANA, Ark. (KSLA) - A man died after he was struck by a train while walking his dog on the tracks.

In the afternoon hours of Dec. 13, a man was fatally struck by a train while he was walking his dog on the railroad tracks.

The incident happened near West 5th Street and Lelia Street.

The dog was not injured and ran off after the incident.

The man’s identity has not been confirmed yet.

Detectives and traffic investigators are working to determine exactly what happened.

"Our thoughts are with this man’s loved ones during this difficult time," says the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.
