The New Hartford girls volleyball squad is coming off a 2024-25 campaign that ended in heartbreak.
The Spartans lost the 2025 Section III Class A final in five sets to their rival Rome Free Academy. Now, they’re looking for a fresh start in the 2025-26 season.
New Hartford lost a few impactful seniors to graduation, but the younger players are stepping up and contributing.
Coach Bill Gardinier said this season’s squad is a “work-in-progress,” but capturing the Tully Holiday Volleyball Tournament on Saturday puts the team in the right direction.
“It was a good day of volleyball,” Gardinier said. “We played very well up until the end. We didn’t give up and we were relentless.”
