NEW YORK. -- Fernando Mendoza was announced as the Heisman Trophy winner on Saturday night in New York.
Mendoza has 2,980 passing yards, six interceptions, and 240 rushing yards.
Mendoza received 2,362 first place votes. He beat Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia who received 1,435 votes, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love who received 719 votes, and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin who received 432 votes.
Mendoza led Indiana to a perfect 13-0 record this season, the school’s first Big Ten championship since 1967 and the number one overall seed in the College Football Playoff. Share
