After pagadi tenants across the city received a long-awaited assurance from the state government on redevelopment, residents of gaothans, koliwadas and Adivasi padas, who are considered to be the sons of soil or the original inhabitants of Mumbai, have also asked for recognition of their habitation rights. Activist Godfrey Pimenta, representing the communities, has written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the same.
