President Donald Trump said he has been fully briefed on the deadly shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island on Saturday night.

"What a terrible thing it is," Trump said. "And all we can do right now is pray for the victims, and for those that were very badly hurt."

At least two people died, and eight others were injured, many critically, officials said . A suspect was not in custody as of Saturday evening. Students were taking final exams at the Ivy League school when the shooting occurred around 4 p.m.

"It's a shame, it's a shame," Trump said. "Just pray."
