The New York Mets are retooling their roster this winter, and it appears nobody is safe from David Stearns trying to rework the organization.
As of early Saturday afternoon, the latest move in this retool was reportedly agreeing to a two-year deal with infielder Jorge Polanco, who is projected to split time next season between first base and designated hitter.
Polanco had a strong season this year, but it doesn't guarantee he will replicate that success next year to try and fill the gap left by Pete Alonso . However, MLB insider Jesse Rogers is pushing the Mets to now sign Alex Bregman in an offseason blockbuster to man the hot corner.
