Authorities in Rhode Island are on the hunt for a suspect after a tragic shooting at Brown University in Providence left two students dead and another eight critically injured. A ninth individual sustained injuries from bullet fragments, according to local officials.

The streets surrounding the university campus were cordoned off and filled with emergency response vehicles late Saturday as law enforcement intensified their manhunt. Mayor Brett Smiley confirmed that the shooter remains at large, urging the community to remain vigilant. Deputy Police Chief Timothy O'Hara revealed that investigators have not yet identified the suspect and are appealing to the public for information.
