MASSAC COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A southern Illinois fire department wants answers after a reported break-in overnight Friday.
According to the Brookport Fire Department, three suspects broke into the building sometime between Thursday night, December 11 and Friday morning, Dec. 12.
They reportedly stole several pieces of equipment, including a full set of extrication tools, a circular saw and a 10-pound sledgehammer.
Chief Joseph Wooten believes this was not a random break-in, as any easily accessible electronics had not been stolen or disturbed.
Chief Wooten is urging the public to be extra careful, as these tools could be used for additional break-ins.
He said the footage has been submitted to the Massac County Sheriff’s Office and the Brookport Police Department.
