MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) - A special event at the Manitowoc Public Library celebrates the holiday season and provides a closer look at the history of a very unique kind of Christmas tree.
“Sparkle! The History of Aluminum Trees” is an event held at the Manitowoc Public Library that showcases a display of 56 aluminum Christmas trees.
As you walk into the Manitowoc Public Library, it’s hard to miss the large display of bright, colorful, aluminum Christmas trees.
Aluminum Specialty, a Manitowoc-based company, produced and branded these trees as “Evergleams” from 1959 to 1972, and is the largest manufacturer of aluminum trees in the country.
