US President Donald Trump Saturday confirmed that he has been briefed on the shooting incident at Brown University in Rhode Island, which left two dead and critically injured eight others, stating that the FBI was on the scene.

Taking to his Truth Social account, Trump said that the suspect was in custody, only to rectify the statement later, saying the suspect was still absconding.

“I have been briefed on the shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene. The suspect is in custody. God bless the victims and the families of the victims,” the US president said in a post on Truth Social.

However, he later clarified that the police had reversed their previous statement and the suspect was still at large.
