John Cena’s illustrious quarter-of-a-century pro wrestling career came to an end tonight at WWE's “Saturday Night’s Main Event” in Washington, D.C., and what was one of the most anticipated matches in WWE history turned into a near riot by the end.
In a match against the Austrian technician, Gunther, Cena had a marathon final bout with the European superstar, the two trading blows back and forth as the crowd held its breath with every move.
Following near fall after near fall, Cena appeared as if he was going to triumph over Gunther but was caught in an ultimate sleeper hold that forced the 17-time world champion to tap out.
