NAGPUR: The mastermind in Rs 200 crore MD drug manufacturing racket, busted by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Wardha earlier this week, Vaibhav Agarwal, was known to the cops as he frequented the Karanja police station in Wardha to fix computer problems and repair CCTVs. Agarwal, who studied computer science in Nagpur, was a popular figure in the village as he was the only resourceful person who could fix a computer or CCTV problem with some precision. Agarwal and his two aides — Yash Bannagre (20) and Soham Dhaigode (21) — were arrested by the DRI sleuths busting a clandestine mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit in remote Karanja (Ghadge) area on Dec 7-8 under ‘Operation Hinterland Brew'. Agarwal was a self-taught chemist who financed and oversaw production of the drugs.
