Union Minister of State for Finance, seven-time parliamentarian and senior Kurmi leader Pankaj Chaudhary was appointed the new president of the BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit on Sunday. The official announcement was made by Union minister and BJP election in-charge Piyush Goyal, formally naming Chaudhary as the state chief.

The appointment ceremony was held amid traditional rituals, including swasti vachan , shankhnaad and damru recital. Outgoing state president Chaudhary Bhupendra formally handed over the BJP flag to Pankaj Chaudhary, symbolising the transfer of charge.
