Sheriff’s Office gets traffic safety grants
CANTON – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office recently received $630,034 in federal traffic safety funding through the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Ohio Traffic Safety Office for the federal fiscal year Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026.
This money is a combined total of four individual grants awarded to support impaired driver and speed enforcement, a traffic safety resource prosecutor, Safe Communities Program and countywide OVI task force.
With this funding, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office and its safety partners will conduct high-visibility enforcement with a focus on reducing impaired driving and speeding, increasing seat belt use and proper child safety seat use, and addressing distracted driving and other dangerous behaviors.
