In a recent development, three gold chains reportedly stolen from attendees of a rally led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have been retrieved. The items were found in the possession of a woman from Jharkhand, who has since been arrested, according to local police.

Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the Nadia Police apprehended the suspect at Krishnagar railway station. The incident followed a probe initiated after three women lodged a complaint during the December 11 rally.

Meanwhile, the opposition BJP has criticized the state government, highlighting the incident as evidence of lawlessness, emphasizing concerns over security even at a high-profile event.
