GRAND FORKS – During the holiday season, Altru Health System can become some people’s “home away from home,” said Altru Case Manager Courtney Caron. To make the holiday season a bit brighter for patients and caregivers alike, Altru staff members hold special events, decorate the halls and put extra effort into patient care.

Hundreds of Altru employees work to care for patients and their families during the holidays. While many people think of this time of year as a chance to slow down, Altru intensive care unit nurse Kortney Clarke emphasized that people unfortunately do get sick during the holiday season, and “still deserve to be cared for.”
