DIXMONT, Maine (WABI) - A Dixmont man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident with friends and family Friday night.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said Caleb Springer, 25, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated reckless conduct, and aggravated assault.

Authorities responded to Masonic Road in Dixmont just after 9 p.m. Friday to find Springer out of control and recklessly shooting a firearm.

Following an investigation, deputies identified three victims, who were friends and family of Springer.

Officials said the incident involved multiple crime scenes in the area.

We’re told one of the victims was shot at while seated in their car and others received injuries as a result of being hit by a bat.

Springer was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail.
