Fire and Emergency Services officials said they received a call about the incident at 09:42 pm, following which fire tenders were dispatched within a minute. Fire units from Fire Station Mujgund and Fire Station JVC rushed to the spot and initiated firefighting operations.

According to preliminary assessment, the fire broke out after the house owner left a hamam, a traditional fire heater, burning. Officials said that after the heater was extinguished, wet wood was placed
