The mystery surrounding the alleged abduction of a Lahore-based deputy superintendent of police’s wife and minor daughter ended on Saturday after police arrested the officer and he confessed to killing both victims and lodging a false kidnapping case.
According to police sources, Muhammad Usman Haider, formerly posted as DSP Investigation Kahna, admitted during questioning that he had murdered his wife and daughter following a prolonged domestic dispute.
Following the incident, he lodged a false first information report (FIR) at Barki police station, claiming they had been abducted.
:The FIR stated that the DSP’s wife and daughter had gone missing on September 27, while a written application for the registration of the kidnapping case was submitted on October 18.
