AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A multi-vehicle crash on I-20 westbound in Aiken County that backed up traffic Friday evening has turned deadly.

Officials said the crash occurred around mile marker 13 between a motorcycle and a white Ford Fusion around 7:55 p.m. on Dec. 12.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, both vehicles were headed west on I-20 when the motorcycle rear-ended the sedan.

The motorcycle then went off the interstate on the left side, Troopers say.

The motorcyclist was taken to Wellstar MCG where Troopers say they later died from their injuries.

Officials say, the people inside the sedan were uninjured.
