LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Multiple organizations came together at the YMCA in West Louisville on Saturday for Holiday Healing with Soul Santa.

This was a free community day filled with music, vendors, toy and coat giveaways, and of course, pictures with Santa.

Today’s event was spearheaded by the Street Widows Foundation, a group dedicated to helping women who have suffered significant loss.

Saturday’s celebration works as an opportunity for the community to spread the holiday spirit to those who need it the most.

“But we have a specific focus that we serve widows, and for the Street Widows Foundation, we serve widows and their children right,” said organizer Elishia Durrett-Johnson. “So, making sure we are spreading that cheer to those dealing with holiday blues and all of those things
