Bill Belichick ’s first season as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels was an abject disaster.
UNC finished 4-8 and went just 2-6 against ACC competition.
It marked Belichick’s third straight losing season counting his final two years as head coach of the New England Patriots in the NFL, and it was his fourth losing season in the five years he’s been coaching without Tom Brady as his quarterback.
Major changes are expected to come this offseason with Belichick’s future in Chapel Hill on shaky ground, and the first of those moves came during the week when former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens was fired as offensive coordinator.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos , Belichick is reportedly targeting a former SEC head coach to replace Kitchens next season.
