TV doctor Hilary Jones went on a 360-mile round trip for surgery – to bypass his local NHS waiting list. The well-liked GP, 72, hailing from Kent, had his second hip replacement in a Birmingham hospital, a hefty 180 miles from his residence, to cut down his wait time for the procedure. ‌

Now, he's sharing his personal surgical experience to show others awaiting treatment that they too can speed up their process if they're willing to hit the road. ‌
