It turns out that Britney Spears did not adopt a baby girl, despite her claims on social media.

The pop icon made an Instagram post on Sunday saying that she had adopted a baby girl.

“I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl,” Spears wrote . “Her name is Lennon London Spears.”

Billboard , however, confirmed that Spears did not adopt a child, and it appears she may have been trolling fans. Spears’ post also never shared photos of the child, adding to the mystery surrounding the post.

Despite all of this, Spears, 43, had talked about wanting to adopt a child a few months ago.

In January, Newsweek reported that Spears posted on Instagram about being “serious” about wanting another child.
