It was Scheffler's first time lifting the Claret Jug after previous major wins at the Masters (2022, 2024) and PGA Championship (2025).

The World No. 1 has dominated the sport over the past few years, and 2025 has been no different -- with two major wins and four top-10 major finishes. He now needs a U.S. Open win to complete the career grand slam , which Rory McIlroy did at the Masters in April.
