LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 14-year-old student was injured in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning while walking to Mickle Middle School, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

The Lincoln Police Department said the student was using the crosswalk at North 67th Street and Walker Avenue around 7:50 a.m. when the driver of a gold car, which had initially stopped, continued through and struck the student.

The vehicle reportedly hit the girl while she was still in the crosswalk, causing a minor injury to her left wrist.

The driver left the scene without stopping.

The school resource officer assigned to Mickle Middle School is investigating the incident.
