WASHINGTON (TNND) — Billy Joel has canceled all of his upcoming concerts due to a recent medical diagnosis impacting his hearing, vision and balance, according to his team.

The condition happens when cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain's ventricles, leading to cognitive impairment, according to the Cleveland Clinic . It is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease because the symptoms of NPH mimic the conditions.

"This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance," the statement read . "Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period."
