One person is confirmed dead and multiple people are hurt after an apparent tornado touched down this morning in Washington County southwest of Lexington.

Emergency crews responded Friday morning to multiple calls at Long Run Road. The sheriff’s office said the damage is severe and injuries span throughout the county.

The National Weather Service Office in Louisville warned of a radar-indicated tornado just before 7 a.m.

More details are yet to emerge as the damage is assessed this morning.
