DALLAS — It is known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”
The question now is whether the U.S. Senate thinks the sprawling budget bill is as beautiful as the U.S. House does, where it passed by only one vote, 215-214.
Many observers expect the Senate to make plenty of changes to the tax and spending plan, which the Congressional Budget Office says will increase the deficit by nearly $4 trillion by 2034.
Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, told us on Inside Texas Politics that he’s willing to consider all of the bill. And he says House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-LA, asked senators not to change too much of the legislation because it passed the House by that razor-thin margin.
