YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Two devices that resembled live grenades were found with "explosive related literature" in a donation basket at the Newberry Commons Shopping Plaza this morning.

According to the Newberry Township Police Department on Facebook, on June 1 at around 8:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the Newberry Commons Shopping Plaza for reports of suspicious items being found.

The post says upon investigation, two devices that resembled live grenades were found in a laundry basket along with "other explosive-related literature" at the entrance of the plaza.

Newberry Township Police said they requested the assistance of the PA State Police Hazardous Device and Explosives Unit, which responded to assess the items and ultimately found them to be inert.
