NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Expect hazy skies in Middle Tennessee over the next few days as wildfires continue to burn all over Canada.

Most of the smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to blanket the Midwest and Great Plains, leading to air quality alerts across several states. Further south, however, the smoke does not appear to be causing any alerts, but has simply left a haze over the area.

More than 90 fires scattered across Canada were burning out of control over the weekend, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, a nonprofit that supports the government’s wildfire response. Active fires in the central Canadian province of Manitoba have forced roughly 17,000 people to evacuate.
