DENVER (KDVR) — A suspect illegally in the country was booked into jail on several charges, including first-degree murder, on Sunday after the FBI said an attack on Pearl Street in Boulder injured eight people.

On Sunday at about 1:26 p.m., the Boulder Police Department responded to a report of several victims after the attack at 13th and Pearl Streets.

The FBI said there was a report of an attack on a group of individuals "walking in a regularly scheduled, weekly peaceful event." Witnesses reported the suspect used a "makeshift flame thrower and threw an incendiary device into the crowd," and was heard yelling “Free Palestine."

Areas in downtown Boulder were under evacuation from around 3 p.m. on Sunday until Monday morning.
