PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The northern lights graced our skies overnight Sunday but if you missed the sky show, you may have another chance tonight.

On Monday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration extended its geomagnetic storm warning through Tuesday.

Aurora enthusiasts have the best chance of seeing the phenomenon in the state of Washington, although the likelihood of one occurring there was still low, according to the latest forecast put out by NOAA.

Viewers in northern parts of Oregon are on the bottom edge of probability. You’ll have your best chance of seeing the ghostly lights in the northeast parts of the state.

The awe-inspiring spectacle does come with some possible downsides, however. NOAA has rated this geomagnetic storm G3 -- or strong -- on a 1 through 5
