In a stunning display of political opportunism, Jay Mitchell has resigned his seat on the Alabama Supreme Court after serving a mere five months of the six year term that he just won in November, all to pursue his ambitions of becoming Alabama’s next attorney general .
Justice Mitchell’s decision to abandon his post on the state’s highest court in favor of yet another political campaign is classic career politician move and is a slap in the face to the citizens of Alabama who entrusted him with the responsibility of upholding the law and protecting their constitutional rights.
