Conservative groups in Nashville are calling on Davidson County residents and any Tennesseans who are strongly against Metro Nashville raising property taxes to attend tonight’s “No New Property Tax” rally outside the Metro Courthouse.

The Metro Nashville Council is set to discuss an ordinance, BL2025-834 , Tuesday to raise property tax rates for the upcoming fiscal year.

The proposed ordinance would increase the property tax rate in Nashville and Davidson County by approximately 26.64 percent.

An increase to the city’s property tax would mark the second time in five years that rates have increased, as Nashville’s last property tax increase of 34 percent in 2020 was the largest in the city’s history.
