U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) announced his intention to file new legislation that would codify three executive orders signed by President Donald Trump, including a bill that would permanently defund both National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

“Today I’m introducing legislation to codify three of President Trump’s executive orders. I think it’s time to get off the dadgum bench and get to work,” Burchett said in a video posted to X on Tuesday.

In a press release announcing the legislation, he added, “Congress took the first step in implementing President Trump’s agenda in May when we passed the One Big Beautiful Bill. Now, it is time for us to codify the President’s Executive Orders into law.”
