FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- After charging a 16-year-old boy as an adult last year in connection to a fatal 2024 shooting near Weisser Park, Allen County prosecutors are now charging another teenager as an adult regarding the same crime.

Idress Eldridge, 16, formally received a murder charge Tuesday months after Brauch Wilkins-Pease, now 17, received a murder charge October 2024.

The charges stem from a shooting that happened Oct. 4, 2024, in the 400 block of Dalman Avenue. Police found 23-year-old Angel Maldonado at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds, and authorities pronounced him dead soon after. The Allen County Coroner's Office ruled Maldonado's death a homicide.
