The Metro Nashville Council must approve a budget by the end of June.

During a public hearing on June 3, council members heard from around 120 different Nashvillians, who lobbied for various items not reflected in the proposed budget.

The Metro Nashville Council has just a few weeks remaining to approve the city's fiscal year 2026 budget. On June 3, the group's work kicked into high gear.

The budget was, by far, the weightiest topic on the agenda for the group's June 3 meeting, and it took up the majority of proceedings that didn't conclude until after midnight the following day.
