Mena, 1909: Which of the ladies in this buggy is Iola Thinnes is not clear to us, but we know she was born in 1894 and married Joseph Forsyth in 1920, dying in 1929 at age 34 as a mother of four children. Active in the local Catholic Church, she was noted as singing for Mass “A Dream of Paradise” and “Ave Maria” in Latin in 1916 at age 22.
