Dardanelle, circa 1910: Dirt-packed Front Street was anchored by Singer and Nolten Drugs on the left. “We live on this street where you see the trees,” which are visible in the distance. Legend suggests the town was named for a one-eyed Native American lookout who sat atop Dardanelle rock.
