SANTA ANA – A 45-year-old woman has been charged with molesting two young female relatives 14 years apart in Anaheim.

Maria Marquez was charged Tuesday with two felony counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14. She did not enter a plea at her arraignment Tuesday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana, and the hearing was rescheduled for June 24 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.

Marquez was accused of molesting one of the girls in March of 2008 and the other girl in June of 2022, according to the criminal complaint.

One of the alleged victims, who is a child, discussed sexual abuse with her older sister, who is now 20, who accused the defendant of doing the same to her when she was a child, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter.
